Resident Claims Unauthorized Sports Bets Were Made To Credit Card

Palos Hills Police said the resident had their credit card in hand when betting at the online sportsbook.



PALOS HILLS, IL — A resident claims an unauthorized charge was made to their credit card, a Palos Hills report says.

On March 13, officers went to the 10500 block of 82nd Avenue to obtain a report of fraudulent practices. Residents told police they received a alert from their bank asking if they authorized a $1,000 transaction with an online sportsbook. The bank also notified that four other transactions were made or attempted on the same sports betting website.

Police said the current residents had their credit cards and had not placed bets online.

The incident is currently being investigated.
