Legal Aid Institute Press Release
Molokai consumers enrolled in the 2022 Marketplace health insurance must file federal taxes by April 18. Most consumers receive a continuation premium tax credit based on their estimated 2022 income to lower their insurance costs. Consumers must reconcile their estimated income with their actual income in 2022 by filing federal taxes. Any difference between the continued premium tax credit and the actual tax credit may affect refunds or taxes owed.
The Hawaii Legal Aid Institute would like to remind Molokai consumers four things:
- Get your 1095A: Get your 1095A by mail or log into your Marketplace account and print.
- Check your 1095A: Make sure the information on your 1095A is correct. If you find an error, contact the Marketplace Call Center at 1-800-318-2596.
- File your federal taxes by April 18. Use the information in 1095A to file your federal taxes. Your taxes may be adjusted if the continued premium tax credit and the actual credit are different.
- Contact Us for Help: The Hawaii Legal Aid Society is ready to assist consumers with their 1095A forms. Call 1-800-499-4302, option 2. Important note: Hawaii Legal Aid does not assist with tax filings.
