TD Double Up Credit Card review – USA TODAY Blueprint

This card offers 2% cash back, an easy-to-earn $100 bonus, and 0% APR on balance transfers for the first 15 months from opening the card. However, there are some strict eligibility guidelines to qualify for the card.

About TD Double Up℠ Credit Card

At first glance, the TD Double Up Credit Card ℠ looks like a straight-forward cash-back card — until you get to the fine print. Cardholders can get 2% cash back on most purchases, but only if they redeem the money into a qualifying TD Bank deposit account (new or existing). If you do not have a qualifying TD Bank deposit account, you can only receive 1% cash back.

Cashback applies to most purchases, and there’s no limit to how much you can earn. There are no specific categories to consider, and you don’t have to activate cash back manually.

The card also comes with a 0% APR on balance transfers for the first 15 billing cycles, after which a variable APR of 19.24%, 24.24%, or 29.24% will apply. The balance transfer fee is $5 or 3% of the amount transferred, whichever is greater. This card comes with a 3% foreign transaction fee, so if you are planning to go overseas, make sure you bring another card that won’t incur additional fees.v

Unfortunately, the card is only available to those who live in one of the 15 states where TD Bank operates, which significantly cuts into who may qualify. If you don’t qualify for this card, there are many other 2% cash back card options.
